Welcome BADIR-ICT Technology Incubator
BADIR means “Initiate” in Arabic and the BADIR program opens the door on business development support to people who have a viable technology idea that can be commercialized into a business opportunity.
King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), the National Research Institute of Saudi Arabia, created the BADIR innovation and technology program to meet some of the objectives of the National Technology and Science Plan.
Established in 2007, BADIR-ICT operates as a not-for-profit, autonomous unit of KACST with its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was the first technology incubator initiative of the BADIR program that will eventually have a number of specialist technology incubators.
The objective of BADIR-ICT is to encourage, facilitate and support the establishment and development of a sustainable ICT industry and business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Whilst operating within KACST it has an independent Supervisory Board headed by the KACST Vice President (Research Institutes) comprised of business, government and community leaders. Day-to-day operations are managed by a KACST appointed Executive Director supported by an overseas consulting team, local management and staff.
This English language website provides an overview of BADIR-ICT operations and applications to join any of its programs should be through its Arabic language website.
